Netra Home Hub Coming 2027Always-on agent that unlocks block, pause and wake.
Phase 3
Why a hub is necessary

A phone that isn’t on your Wi-Fi cannot block a device. That’s physics, not a missing feature.

Everything Netra does, and what each part needs to work

Eight capability families. Each one lists its tier, what it depends on, and whether it is built, designed or on the roadmap. Nothing on this page is described in the present tense unless it ships today.

Inventory

Device discovery & inventory

See every device on your home network, identified by brand and model.

Netra scans your home Wi-Fi and builds a complete inventory of what’s connected — cameras, routers, smart locks, televisions, voice assistants, phones, laptops and patrol robots. Each device is identified by brand, model and type, so “unknown device at 192.168.1.47” becomes “TP-Link camera, added 3 days ago”. Anything Netra can’t identify is flagged for you to review.

  • Automatic discovery, zero-touch
  • Device fingerprinting by brand, model and type
  • Unknown-device flagging
  • Manual naming and room assignment

Diagnostics

Network tools

The diagnostic tools you’d need a technician for, in your pocket.

Four checks you can run yourself, any time, on any network you’re connected to. Find Open Ports shows which services are reachable on your devices and router — remote management, UPnP, Telnet, FTP. The Router Vulnerability Check tests for default credentials, outdated firmware, exposed admin interfaces and DNS tampering. Hidden Camera Finder scans a Wi-Fi network for camera and recording devices, which is worth doing in a rented flat or a hotel room. Speed Test measures what your ISP is actually delivering. Ping and traceroute are there for the technically inclined.

  • Find open ports
  • Router vulnerability check
  • Hidden camera finder
  • Speed test, ping and traceroute

Hidden Camera Finder detects network-connected cameras. A camera recording to a local SD card with no Wi-Fi will not appear. We say so because the omission is what makes other versions of this feature untrustworthy.

Sharing

Guest access

Time-limited, scoped access for the people who come and go.

Your maid, the electrician, a tenant, the society guard, a relative staying for a week. Create a guest share that covers only the devices you choose, expires on its own, and can be pulled back instantly. Share it over WhatsApp. No account setup, no password handed over, no forgetting to undo it later.

  • Choose the devices and the duration
  • Share over WhatsApp, no account needed
  • Revoke instantly from anywhere
  • Expired shares stay in the timeline

Awareness

Alerts & event timeline

Know the moment something changes, not the week after.

Netra records what happens on your network and tells you about the things that matter: a device you’ve never seen before joins, a camera goes offline, a vulnerability turns up in your router’s firmware, someone in the household changes a permission. The full timeline is searchable, so “when did that device first appear” has an answer.

  • New-device, offline and vulnerability alerts
  • Permission changes recorded as events
  • Searchable history

Insights

AI insights & Ask Netra

Ask your network a question in plain language and get a real answer.

Netra explains itself. Ask why the internet is slow tonight and get an answer that names the device, the time window, and what it was doing — not a graph you have to interpret. Ask which of your devices are risky and get a ranked list with reasons. Available in English and Hindi.

Per-device bandwidth figures are estimates without a Home Hub. Accuracy improves substantially once the hub is on the network.

Cyber-robotics

Patrol robots

Your patrol robot is a networked computer with a camera. Netra treats it like one.

Home patrol robots are arriving in Indian homes with the same security posture as a cheap IP camera — default credentials, unpatched firmware, cloud connections nobody audited. Netra recognises patrol robots as a first-class device type, tracks their firmware and update status, monitors what they’re talking to, and applies the same permission rules as everything else. We intend to build a Verified Secure programme with robot and camera OEMs; that part is a stated direction, not a shipped programme.

  • Patrol robots as a first-class device type
  • Firmware and update tracking
  • Same permission rules as every other device

Standards

Compliance tracking (NCCS / ITSAR)

Check your cameras against India’s IoT security standard.

India’s NCCS/ITSAR standard for IoT cameras, effective April 2025, turned “should we secure these devices” into a question with a regulatory answer. Netra maps your installed cameras against the standard’s requirements and shows where you stand — useful for individual homes, essential for housing societies and builders.

  • Camera-by-camera mapping against the standard
  • Gap list you can act on
  • Exportable for a society or a handover

Roadmap — Phase 3
Enforcement

Device control: block, pause, wake

Cut a device off, pause the internet, or wake a machine — from anywhere.

Block an unrecognised device from the network. Pause the internet for a specific device or for the whole house at bedtime. Wake a sleeping computer remotely. All three need an always-on Home Hub on the home network, because a phone that isn’t on that Wi-Fi cannot enforce any of it. The Home Hub is Phase 3 and does not exist yet.

  • Block a device
  • Pause the internet, per device or house-wide
  • Wake-on-LAN

This is the one feature family Netra cannot deliver today. It is listed here so you know it exists on the roadmap, not so you can buy it.

Questions about the feature set

Discovery, all four network tools, ping and traceroute. Everything else syncs through your Netra account, which means it needs the cloud but still no hardware.

The screens and behaviour are specified and the work is scheduled, but you cannot use it today. We list these because leaving them off would make the roadmap unreadable, not because they are available.

Seeing is passive: your phone looks at the network while it is on it. Blocking is active and continuous: something has to be present and refuse that device every time it tries to join. That is what the Home Hub does.

Netra recognises routers, IP cameras, smart locks, televisions, speakers and voice assistants, phones, laptops, and patrol robots. Anything outside those is listed as an unidentified device rather than guessed at.

The app, the scam bulletins and Ask Netra are English and Hindi. Hindi is a first-class language for us, not a machine translation pass.
