Decide who can see each device — and who can change it
Every person in your household gets their own account and an explicit role. As Admin, you set view and control separately for each person on each device. Nobody gets access by default, and every grant can be pulled back in one tap.

What is a permission matrix?
A permission matrix is a grid of people against things. Down one side are the members of your household. Across the top are the devices on your network — cameras, locks, the router, the TV. In each cell you decide two separate questions: can this person see this device, and can this person change it. Seeing a camera’s status is not the same as being able to switch it off, and Netra keeps them apart. The result is that access is something you hand out deliberately, one cell at a time, rather than something that comes free with the Wi-Fi password.
Two roles, and no ambiguity between them
An Admin manages members, devices and permissions. A Standard member has exactly what the Admin has granted. There is no middle role, because a middle role is where households lose track of who can do what.

Seeing a device is not the same as changing it
Every cell in the matrix holds two switches. View lets someone see that a device exists, whether it is online and what it has been doing. Control lets them change its settings inside Netra. Most household members only ever need the first.
- Set both switches independently, per person, per device.
- Grant a whole room at once, then trim the exceptions.
- Turning view off hides the device from that member entirely.

For the people who come and go
The maid, the electrician, a tenant, the society guard, a relative staying a week. Create a share that covers only the devices you choose and expires on its own. Send it over WhatsApp. There’s no account to set up and no password to hand over.

Every change leaves a record
Permission changes are the kind of thing people forget they made. Netra writes each one down: what changed, on which device, for whom, and who did it. The trail is searchable, and it’s the first place to look when something doesn’t behave the way you expected.

No. Only an Admin can change permissions, and Standard members cannot promote themselves or anyone else. If a Standard member needs something, they can request it and the Admin approves or declines from their own phone.
As many as you want, though we’d suggest two. One person travelling with the only Admin account is the most common way households lock themselves out. A second Admin also means permission changes get noticed.
Their access ends immediately on every device, on every session, including anything they had open at the time. The removal is written to the audit trail with the time and who did it.
View means they can see the device, its status and its activity in Netra. Whether they can open a live feed depends on the camera’s own app and account, which Netra doesn’t override. We’re explicit about this because it’s the thing people most often assume.
Admins see the full trail. Standard members see the entries that concern their own access, so a change to what they can do is never invisible to them.
Yes. Permissions live in your Netra account and sync through the cloud, so you can grant or revoke from anywhere. What needs you to be home, or rather needs a Home Hub, is enforcing anything at the network level, like blocking a device.
Permissions are a Premium feature. The free tier covers device discovery and the manual network tools with a single owner account.
